financial transparency- I HONESTLY JUST GOT SO TIRED OF NOT SHOWING UP AS MYSELF -
We know the systems are failing us but we forget to focus on what to create next in the process.
There will always be endless commentary on the state of the world: the housing crisis, the cost of just existing, and the corruption dismantling institutions in real time.
We choose to use our voices unapologetically and to amplify how deeply this extraction has bled into every facet of the working class by sharing our own lived experiences and perspective. So yes, while we are “that family who moved from Noe Valley into a studio in the Tenderloin” and very vocal about this transition, we are also committed to challenging the typical societal narrative towards what that means.
The layer to all of this that most people are missing right now is: that we are not waiting another second to build a life that actually reflects our values and goals. Instead we are choosing to pivot our energy into actions that align with who we are right now. We don't have to limit ourselves to the pre-conditioned and loud narratives of systems that were never designed for us in the first place.
And what we’ve noticed is when we move and navigate with the changes instead of against them, something starts to shift inside. And that is the exact angle in which we are documenting our experience through.
